Frequently Asked Questions
The cost depends on your vehicle model and the type of key. A mechanical key starts at €49, a transponder key from €89, and a remote key with central locking from €149. For premium brands such as BMW or Mercedes, prices start at €199. We are happy to provide you with a free quote in advance – just give us a call or visit us.
In most cases, your new car key will be ready within 30 to 60 minutes. For older vehicles or simple mechanical keys, it is often even faster. More complex systems with additional security features can take up to two hours. You can wait on-site or run errands nearby while we work on your key.
Please bring the following documents with you:
- Vehicle registration certificate
- Photo ID (ID card or passport)
- If available: the old key
For some premium vehicles, we may also require a PIN code or FSC code. We will inform you by phone in advance if this applies to your vehicle.
Yes, absolutely. We use high-quality original key blanks and program them using the same software as authorized dealerships. All functions – door locking, ignition, remote control, and immobilizer – work exactly like the original key. Every key is thoroughly tested before handover.
No problem – it happens more often than you think. If your vehicle is locked, we open it professionally and without damage. We then create a completely new key and program it for your vehicle. Vehicle opening starts at €89, plus the cost of the new key. You can also have your vehicle brought to us – we will help you in any situation.
Yes, in most cases a repair is worthwhile and significantly cheaper than buying a new key. We replace broken housings (from €29), faulty buttons (from €39), and empty batteries (from €15). We also check whether electronic repairs are possible in case of water damage. After a free diagnosis, we will honestly advise you whether a repair makes sense or a new key is the better option.
Yes, we work with all common car brands. From Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Seat, and Skoda to Ford, Opel, Renault, and Peugeot, as well as Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai, and Kia. We also have the necessary equipment and software for premium brands such as Porsche, Land Rover, or Jaguar. For rare or very new models, please call us in advance so we can check availability.
Vehicle coding means adjusting settings in your car’s control units. This allows us to activate hidden features such as coming-home lighting, automatic locking at a certain speed, daytime running light adjustments, or enabling navigation address entry while driving for the passenger. Many of these functions are already installed by the manufacturer but not activated. We will be happy to advise you on the options available for your vehicle.
Keyless-Go systems are vulnerable to so-called relay attacks. Thieves amplify the signal between the key and the vehicle to unlock and start your car. We therefore recommend storing your key in a signal-blocking pouch or keeping it at least two to three meters away from doors and windows. We also offer a security check (from €59) – we inspect your system and advise you on effective protective measures.
Yes, we are available for emergencies outside regular opening hours. If you have lost your key or are locked inside your car, call us at +43 1 641 00 39. For emergency services at night, on weekends, or on public holidays, we charge a reasonable surcharge, which we communicate transparently in advance. In Vienna and the surrounding area, we usually reach you within 30 to 60 minutes.
This is a common issue. On some vehicle models, the remote key loses synchronization with the car after a battery change. Re-synchronization with us starts at €49 and takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Simply bring your vehicle and the key to us – we will restore the connection and test all functions.
For most codings, there is no risk to the manufacturer’s warranty. Changes to comfort functions such as lighting, locking, or infotainment settings are generally unproblematic. In rare cases, certain codings may affect the warranty – we always advise you transparently about potential risks before any work is carried out. All codings can be reversed if required, for example if you plan to sell your vehicle or bring it in for inspection.
